While peacefully viewing wildlife through a scope Toby Burke and his family were charged by a female brown bear. Tony fought the bear off with his scope, tripod and fists. Although bruised and bitten, Burke was successful in preventing the bear from harming his family. Maybe a big handgun would have proved useful in this circumstance!
